1 to 1
For those who really struggle we can help you with a few 1 to 1 sessions. We can book you a 1 to 1 session with a tutor at a mutually convinient time. This way you get to go through exactly what you want with the tutor. Once you have done a few 1 to 1 sessions you can progress on to a tutor-led course.
Due to the funding cuts we now only offer 1 to 1's on a very limited basis. We can offer you a maximum of 3 sessions to get you started. Upon completing those sessions you can then move on to our drop-in workshop or our tutor-led classses.
New Courses
OMTI has begun to offered new courses in Excel, Making a newsletter, Using Windows 7, Databases, PowerPoint, PC Maintenance, Web design, Microsoft Office - Beginenrs, and Managing Files.
Many of the new courses and our longer standing courses can now be taken either with or without a qualification. If you take a courses as a qualification then accreditation fees will apply.
The courses all remain on our course programme for this new quarter, July to September 2011.

The British Computer Society (BCS) oversee the ECDL in the UK. On 01/09/09 they updated the syllabus to version 5. This reflects new challenges in ICT and brings it right up to date with current technology and qualification framework.
Module 1 has changed from Basic concepts of IT to IT security. This module is much smaller than the old one, however, most of the basics stuff such as acronyms, hardware and software have been added to module 2.
Module 2 is now called IT Fundementals. This replaced the old Managing Files & Folders module. Its quite simular to the old module 2 but with the added IT basics and theory from the old module 1.
Modules 3 through 7 remain the same but are updated for todays technology.
Unit-E (module 8) has been discontinued as this information is now included withing the other modules. So one less module and exam to complete.
Other changes include module 1 exam is now a written multi-choice exam and not and online exam as there is no need for any external exam marking in the new qualifications framework.
The BCS now only issue one certificate with regard the ECDL. This shows modules 1,2 and 7 studied at level one and modules 3,4,5 and 6 studied at level two.
