OMTI formed in 1999 through a group of like minded people who has the vision to provide access to the latest computer equipment free at the point of use. It took them 2 years to get the funding, staff and infrastructure together but finally on 19th November 2001 OMTI opened its doors for the first time, with 1 permenent member of staff and just 8 PC's
Things have changed since then, with more PC's, tutor-led training rooms opening, new staff, achieving chairtable status, becoming a limited company, providing qualifications to name but a few.
OMTI is managed by the management group that is shown in the Staff page. The management group decide the overall stratergy and direction of OMTI and make sure that core staff are performing to their ability.
Core staff run OMTI on a daily basis providing access to the drop-in room, teaching the tutor-led classes, adjudicating and marking exams and so on. Lead by project co-ordinator Mark Holland, they are a friendly welcoming bunch of dedicated people who are here to help you to access ICT, gain qualifications and enhance your job prospects.

Some of the statistics above are pretty impressive, especially the number of members we have and the number of attendences we have. 91991 attendences over the 8 and a half years we have been open is especially impressive, especially when the figure has been steadily increasing over the years. In our first year of opening we only has 6000 people through our door, but in 2008 we had nearly 11,000 attendences.
