Oaks Millennium Technology Initiative

OMTI has its core staff who run the centre on a day to day basis and perform the ICT teaching. These are the people you see everyday when you come into the centre.

We also have a management group. The management group meet every couple of months to set OMTI's policy and direction. It consists of committed members of the local community who are dedicated to providing a free computer centre for everyone to use.

Mark Holland - Project Co-ordinator

A local man, Mark has managed the project since its inception in 2001. Mark manages the day to day running of the centre, does a little teaching and administers the IT through out the centre. If you need any information about the centre, then Mark is the person to talk to.

  

Mick Lodge - Tutor

Mick joined the team as a tutor in 2003. He teaches a vast number of our courses and has developed a great rapour with his students and is a valued member of the team. Mick is the one to talk to about any of our courses.

  

James Light - Tutor

A young man from Kendray who first joined OMTI as a volunteer and progressed by completing a number of training courses including ECDL and Training for Trainers teaching qualification. James now teaches our introduction courses.


Management Group

  

Wayne Johnson - Chair

Wayne is the chair of the management group. His role includes chairing meetings, making policy decisions and attending meetings on OMTI's behalf. Wayne has been the driving force of OMTI since the project started in 1999. Wayne is a local businessman who bring a vast knowledge of how to succeed and get things done. Having grown up in Kendray Wayne is committed to seeing its regeneration progress.

  

Sarah Stables - Treasurer

Sarah Stables is an enthusiastic Qualified Midwife who has experience of moving away from the area for a while to travel the world and broaden her life experiences. Having seen the need from within the community Sarah has been keen to participate in the development and management of this community project.

  

Stephen Pendleton - Secretary

Stephen Pendleton is a young and enthusiastic member of the group with 9 GCSE passes from school, BTEC in architectural Design and a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering. One of his interests lies with Information Technology, which he is keen to past on to others within the community.

  

Craig Stables - Member 

A young man who has experience of working within construction company's within Barnsley and nationally. Craig is currently working with Yorkshire Water and has an interest in IT and a keen willingness to assist and support the project to provide ICT access that is available to all in a friendly environment.

  

Keith Pendleton - Member 

Born and raised in Kendray for 22 years before moving just down the road to Darfield, Keith has an AMEME Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering. Keith has a keen interest in the technology and decided to become involved in the project to give something back to the community he grew up in.
